Fourth of July

HAPPY 4th OF JULY, FRIENDS!!
I hope your day was so good and you had marvelous times with your friends and families, eating good food and watching fireworks.. You know, all that jazz.

My 4th of July was a good one.

It started in the morning when mom, Adi and I went on a ride to see the jets fly overhead. I'll be honest, it was a bit of a disappointment this year. I swear they didn't fly in their usual route, so we didn't see them as well..but we still saw them, at least. Bummer is, I did not get a good picture. They're in that one below. Look hard, you'll see 'em.

This morning, my cute daddy hiked to the top of Mount Olympus and sent us this cute picture from the summit.

Another factor making today awesome?
No work.

So, after our little jet-search, mom, Savannah, Adi and I went on a run to a nearby park. Of course, you can't just run to a park then run back home. You have to play at the park, too!! So naturally, we did.

In the later hours of the day, my family went to Lehi with the Walker side of the fam for some food, family and fireworks while I stayed back in Springville with that handsome boyfriend of mine. Craig and I were in the company of his brother and his family and some of their friends. It was a good time with delicious food and entertaining fireworks (i love watching kids reactions to fireworks).

Of course, this is the only picture I got of my Fourth of July night. But its a cute one.
Craig has several family members in Mexico all summer and he Skype's with them, often. Tonight when we Skype-d with them, the Real Salt Lake game was on and Ryan, Craig's brother, wanted to watch it with us! So cute Craig set up a little contraption to set his iPad ontop of so Ryan could watch the game with us.

(by the way, the fourth of july was also the 8 month mark for the lovely craig and i. 8 wonderful, very happy months! love you, craig.)

Wow...Did that all sound like a journal entry, or what? Sorry.

Today was great and all that, but I think it is important to remember how cool the actual holiday is! Celebrating the birth of a country seems pretty sweet, to me! I am so thankful for the people who fought so hard to make this country a free country and keep it that way, therefore, giving me my freedoms and rights. We are a very blessed country thanks to those brave, great people!

God Bless America!

Daddy Day

Today is Fathers Day, have you heard??
I love this day because I think, unfortunately, daddies get overlooked WAY too often. In my opinion, there should be several Fathers Days throughout the year. Thats how great dads are, you know?
Especially my daddy-o.
If you know my dad, then you know just how lucky Savannah, Adeline and I are to have him as our very own dad. My dad blows my mind on a daily basis. He is the happiest, most spiritual, optimistic, hard-working, goal oriented, righteous man I think I will ever, ever know. He is the very definition of the worlds best example. I don't know what I ever did to get him as mine, but I'm super-dee-duper thankful that he is!
My dad is also about as selfless as they come. He always puts my momma and her happiness and wants first, and also would drop everything to be there for my sisters and I. It has been a wonderful experience to see just how kind and genuine he is to his family and all those he comes in contact with - he is one friendly, happy guy.
Perhaps my favorite thing about my dad is how spiritual he is. Since I was tiny, I can remember seeing my dad, probably daily, sitting on the couch with his scriptures, marking pens/pencils and a notebook out, obviously studying hard. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I've always been pretty good about reading my scriptures, every day, and I will always give the credit to my dad as to why I do that. He leads by example, especially when it comes to the gospel and I'm overwhelmed at how lucky I am to have that spiritual giant to look up to.
I'm thankful for my dad because he isn't just my dad, he is my friend! I know that I can talk to my dad about whatever and he is always up for an adventure and a good laugh. It has got to be the best thing ever:)
Daddy, I love you and I am so, so grateful for your example, friendship and role in my life! You're one heck of a guy!! I LOVE YOU!

Its my BEST friends birthday!!

(Unfortunately, I don't get to spend Craig's birthday with him due to the fact that he is backpacking for the next few days, but I know he's having a blast and has been looking forward to this trip, so I can't complain. If he's happy, so am I.)

When my family members have a birthday, I have tried to make it a habit to, in their birthday post, list a few of my favorite things about them.. I feel its only right to do this with Mr. Lifferth, as well!!

So, here it goes:
  • Craig is a gentleman. This is a quality I feel like not a lot of guys care to have, anymore. So, I consider myself incredibly lucky to be in-love with a man who truly is one.
  • Craig loves the gospel and honors his Priesthood. He's a spiritual guy and a huge example to me. He is a Priesthood holder and lives his life worthily. Its special to see.
  • Craig is healthy - he cares about what he puts in his body and he is active, often.
  • Craig listens when you talk to him. I love knowing that I can tell Craig a story or something on my mind and know that he'll remember it even if it was a conversation that happened weeks ago.
  • Craig is hilarious. I practically crave Craig's sense of humor, now. He is so quick and sarcastic and makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts and my cheeks are sore.
  • Craig knows how to be mature and serious when it is appropriate.
  • Craig is so good with kids. This has always been something important to me. I love little kids and I've always hoped I'd end up with a guy who is comfortable around kids and more than that, enjoys being with them, playing with them and talking to them. Seeing him with his nieces and nephews always puts a smile on my face because he is fabulous with them and has exceeded all my expectations when it came to my man and kids. (my very favorite is to see him hold babies!)
  • Craig seems to always have the future in mind and makes very wise decisions because of it.
  • Craig gives me butterflies and butterflies are some of my favorite things to get.
  • Craig is friendly..to everyone! It doesn't matter if he knows you or not, Craig will have a nice little chat with you and certainly put a smile on your face.
  • Craig is family-oriented. I love it.
  • Craig gives the very best hugs. They're the cure to any bad day, and if you're having a good day, they're the cherry on top!
  • Craig is a hard worker - if there is a job to be done, he will do it and not stop until it is completed.
  • Craig is helpful. I often find myself telling Craig issues on my mind or ask him his opinion on decisions I need to  make and he always helps me weigh both sides and, in the end, make the best decision for me.
  • Craig is handsome. Just looking at that boy (especially those pretty blue eyes of his) makes my heart beat real fast:)
  • Craig cares for me and love me. This sounds a little selfish, but its something about him I adore. It feels good to be cared for so genuinely, treated so kindly and loved so sweetly by someone. Especially him:) He is the best. The. Best.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CRAIG!!
I LOVE YOU, BIRTHDAY BOY!!

Mother Dear I Love You So

I'm a few days late. I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
Even though it was on Sunday, I couldn't go without telling my beautiful, wonderful, lovely mommy HAPPY MOTHERS DAY and also, I love you. A lot.

My momma has got to be one of my very best friends.
If you know my mom, you know there isn't another soul out there like this lady - she is one of a kind.
Let me tell you a few reasons why I love my little mommy-friend
  • My mom is one of the happiest people - she laughs all the time
  • My mom has taught me that Disney is the bomb
  • My mom has never put herself first, its always her kids and their wants before her own, how cool is that?
  • My mom is supportive. If you want to do something, or if you're good at something she'll help you achieve it
  • My mom is smart - the girl knows her stuff
  • My mom likes to text..which is good because that happens to be one of my favorite pass times
  • My mom has killer dance moves
  • My mom is pretty - I have always loved her smile
  • My mom is a good teacher, especially when it comes to teaching her 3 daughters how to one day be a wife and mother
  • My mom is patient - a virtue I'm still trying to master, so I'm glad I've got her as an example
  • My mom gives warm hugs
(there is so much more to my mommy...but theres a few)

I LOVE YOU MOMMY!
HAPPY, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

Happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER!

How is your Easter? Good? Good! Thats what I like to hear.

Last night the girls, my boyfriend and I did the traditional pre-Easter egg dying and I'd say it was a successful and creative night. The four of us listened to Disney music and enjoyed each others company coloring twelve eggs, each.

Below, you will see our dozens of masterpieces. Please, enjoy.

 little bizzie's eggs

 miss adi's eggs

 craig the bunnies eggs

my eggs

 buddy pictures
i'm dating the most attractive bunny, huh??

the gang and all the eggs

And your classic
HOPPY EASTER

:)

Really, though. I hope your Easter Sunday has been a lovely one and that you're having the best time chowing down on Easter candy, spending time with your family, searching for eggs, etc. But I hope you all take the time to remember the true meaning of Easter! Remember Christ and His sacrifice for us, His resurrection, all that He does for us and that He lives and loves us!

Resolutions

Every year, around December, I always think about new years resolutions. But that is as far as I go. I just think about them. Maybe I'll even set a few goals and sort of do them the first few days of January or at least think of them, but I'll be honest, they never last long... So who's to say this years resolutions will be any different? Regardless, here I am, promising I'll stick to them just like I do every year. Maybe this time I really will come through and not give up on these goals.

In thinking of ways to really accomplish these new years resolutions, I thought maybe writing them down would be a good motivation. Perhaps some of you readers can check-up with me occasionally and make sure I'm still working on them, yeah? (please?!)

So without further ado, here are my 2012 New Years Resolutions:

1: Do my New Years Resolutions
2: Have more meaningful personal prayer morning and night
3: Read my scriptures every day, no excuses - even if its just one verse
4: Get good at playing the piano again
5: Write in my journal at least five times a week
6: Be more charitable and look for more opportunities to serve
7: Exercise at least 5 times a week
8: Eat healthier/drink more water
9: Keep a 'thankful journal'
10: Go to the temple once a week
{and a few more personal ones i choose not to publish, publicly}

Wish me luck!

birth

When the Christmas season is here, its also birthday season in the Walker household. Little Miss Adi and I celebrated our birthdays, this week. On the twentieth, Adi turned ten and on the twenty-first, I turned twenty-one. (i'm old, now) I'd say we both had a pretty good day in celebrating the anniversaries of our birth.

Cute Adi (for the second year in a row) had her dance recital on her birthday, so on my birthday we combined our birthday celebration. Our family and Craig, went to PF Changs then went back home to relax, have fun and eat pie. It was a very, very good day!

(i have a cute boyfriend)

(you're right. this is a boring post but i'm laying here on the couch with my laptop on christmas eve watching the santa clause and had nothing else to do and when i started typing, i discovered i wasn't in a creative-writey mood...but i still wanted to post the pictures and such)

And while I'm here, I hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

gingerbread

Christmas is just around the corner, folks. I'll be more specific, it is in fourteen days. Two weeks away.

YAYYYY!!!!!

Anyway, Christmas isn't Christmas without a few traditions, right? Thats actually a funny introductory sentence to this paragraph because the subject of this blog post isn't at all a Walker-family-tradition... But maybe this is the beginning of a new one. Alright, enough small talk.

We made gingerbread houses two days ago.

Savannah. Adi. Craig {thats my new, cutie-boy}, and myself. It was so, super much fun! And I've got to say, we finished with four real good lookin' houses any gingerbread man would fight to live in.

But don't take my word for it, see for yourself:
building a gingerbread house wasn't a one-person job for us girlies

there's so much to be thankful for

These are the lyrics from Josh Groban's (yum) song called, 'Thankful.' Great Thanksgiving song.
Hope you're all having a fabulous Thanksgiving and take a moment or two to really think about how blessed we all are. There's SO much to be thankful for!

Somedays we forget
To look around us
Somedays we can't see
The joy that surrounds us
So caught up inside ourselves
We take when we should give.

So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be.
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see.
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.

Look beyond ourselves
There's so much sorrow
It's way too late to say
I'll cry tomorrow
Each of us must find our truth
It's so long overdue

So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And every day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.

Even with our differences
There is a place we're all connected
Each of us can find each other's light

So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though this world needs so much more

There's so much to be thankful for

"thank you" means more in november

November is almost over and I have not yet done a "thankful" post. Although I still only have Internet on my phone, I have to do it. Better late than never, yeah?

Being thankful is something I think we don't "do" near as much as we should. At least, I know that I'm not always as thankful as I should be. This is something I intend to change about myself.

I, ChelseaKate, am thankful for:

MOMMY: My mom is the best of the best. She is pretty, funny, energetic, selfless, sarcastic, loving and so much more. My mom is my best friend. I'm lucky and I have a real close relationship with her. I very seldomly feel weird about telling her EVERYTHING. Really, I tell her it all. She knows every detail of my life. I love that. I'm so thankful I got the worlds greatest mom who loves me, my sisters and my daddy so much.

DADDY-O: My daddy. I love him. I am so thankful for his example that has always been there for me whether I knew it or not. Since I was little, I could find my dad reading his scriptures and I believe that is a main reason why I read my scriptures. My dad always reminds my family to pray, too. I know sometimes I act annoyed when he tells me, but really, I'm glad he never let's up on that. He's always been so supportive in me having a good, educated future, I'm so grateful I have him as my driving force.

SAVANNAH KLAIRE: I don't even know where to start. I love Bug so much that I can get emotional just thinking about it. She is my little angel. She's the reason I have hope. When I was an only child, I always hoped I could get a baby sister or brother even though I knew it was hard for my mom to get pregnant. I never gave up hope, and I got the most beautiful Savannah. I'm so thankful Bug and I are closer than close. I'm thankful we tell each other everything and always find something to smile at. I'm thankful for her laugh and her twinkly eyes and her enormous heart.

ADELINE KAYDE: Adi-Lu. Gosh, I love that princess. I am so thankful to have Adi as a roll model. She's like my second mom and I'm so grateful. Adi has a selfless, giving heart. She's wonderful. I'm thankful for her "magical hugs" and I'm thankful that Adi loves me so much that she wants to be like me. I'm thankful that she make me want to better myself. I'm so happy I have Adi in my life to keep me active and laughing. I'm thankful for her tiny body and cheerful smile.

TODD: I am so thankful for all the personal things Todd has taught me, especially while serving his mission. I'm thankful for his decision to serve the Lord. I'm thankful for his caring heart and magic blue eyes.

FRIENDS: As if I weren't already so lucky due to my family, I'm even more lucky because of my wonderful, beautiful friends. Wow. Without my friends I'd be a mess in my bed. I'm so thankful they listen to me, care for me, want me to succeed and lift me up daily. My parents always taught me to surround myself with good people. I truly don't think friends get better than mine.

GRANDPARENTS: Grandpa Glade, I'm so thankful for all of my childhood memories with you, singing on the porch, working in your garden and becoming best friends. Grandma Rosemary, I'm so grateful for our friendship. I'm thankful that you care about the happenings in my daily life. I'm grateful for our shopping trips, fashion shows and all the times when I was younger when you'd play along with my silly games. Grandpa Mark, I'm thankful for your example of hard work. I always admired watching you in your office. I'm thankful for all the times you'd take me to the store to buy anything I wanted. Grandma Marilyn, I'm grateful for your example of being a homemaker. I'm grateful you've helped me learn to cook and clean. I'm thankful for all the times you did my hair, taught me to sew and how to be well rounded.

AUNTS & UNCLES: Julie, I'm so thankful for our friendship. I'm thankful for my childhood memories with you, I love thinking back to our fun times. (Where's Dinah?) I'm thankful that you pay attention to my life. Brian, I'm thankful for your fun spirit. I'm thankful for our talks and your curiosity about my life. Meredith, I am so thankful for the friendship we have. I'm thankful for all the times you'd babysit me and always make it fun. I'm thankful for all the laughs, the hand-me-down clothes and Christmas and birthday presents. Dave, I'm so thankful I've got to know you over the last few years. I'm thankful for our talks. I've always admired the fact that you'd sit down with me and my sisters and sincerely ask how we're doing. I'm thankful for your advice and for the example you are to me of being a good parent.

COUSINS: I have amazing cousins, I'm so thankful for their playful spirits, sweet smiles and the fun talks we have with each other. I'm glad that even as i've got older, I've been able to maintain a good relationship with my cousins..even had that relationship grow!

I am thankful for so much, those ^ are only a few. My life is so beautiful and I'm most grateful to Heavenly Father for blessing me with all these reasons to be thankful. He is so good to me and has filled my life with amazing people/things.

I think we should celebrate Thanksgiving more often.

Some Things..

For the beginning of this random post, I will start with pumpkins.
Every October my sissys and I paint a pumpkin. Its cleaner than carving and, in my opinion, MUCH more fun.

This is Savannah's hula girl

My pumpkin

Cute Adi's castle pumpkin

Next item of randomness is my room.

Ick.
Messy, I know.
Listen to my good plan. My cute Todd is hunting and I don't get to see or hear from him until Wednesday (sad) so I decided while he is gone, I will clean my room.
So thats my goal.. We'll see how I do.
Yikes.
I'm also thinking maybe I'll be more willing to clean it because now my embarrassing messy room pictures are on my blog.. So I have to clean it so I can show you all how cute my room is when its clean and prove to you I'm not a complete slob.

Next.

You may all think this is dumb.. But I thought it was really funny.
This is from Facebook.
That quote is my status on FB and that Dan boy that commented on it is the guy who set Todd and I up, he and Todd are very good friends.
Pretty much what he said just cracked me and my mommy up.

Last but CERTAINLY not least.
Todd.
Oh look how cute he is.
I told you he was gone hunting.. He left yesterday at 6 and won't be back until Wednesday. But guess what? I'll only see him Thursday (maybe Wednesday, too, depends on when he gets home) then on Friday he is leaving to South Dakota for many days. Jeepers.

Okay, now you are all caught up on my little life.

:)
