Kisses

I woke up to puppy-kisses this morning. These are the mornings that let me know the day will be good.

And it was.

It was a day full of being with my family. Just the five of us. I couldn't tell you the last time we've had that pleasure. (although i was still craig homesick - but lucky me, i see him tomorrow!)

We ate lunch. We shopped. We saw Brave. We shopped some more. We ate dinner. We talked and covered billions of topics.

It was lovely.

I'm sure its been too long since I've last gushed about my family.
So let me just say.. I sure l.o.v.e. my beautiful family.

Take a Look

I'm showing off Savannah, today, kay?
This sister of mine has got a talent in photography - she's always had a knack for it.
This past sunday my sweet, Grandpa Glade gave Savannah his (very nice) camera and she's put it to use, already.

Here are some of her pieces of work from yesterday evening.
Enjoy, loves.

(my boyfriend..he's gorgeous, huh? yum.)

Gus Gus

You may not believe this (especially if you know my parents) but you should believe it. Because its true.

Guess what, guys?
The Walker family has made a major purchase.
And its name is Gus.

Mhmm, we got ourselves another adorable puppy.
A teacup shih tzu - the same breed as Angus.
(Walter, too, but Walter isn't a teacup).

He is six weeks old and a little bundle of happiness, fluff, squeaks and cuteness.
We're in love.

See, we got him because we thought we wouldn't have Angus, anymore..
But, guess what?
We still have Angus.
That equals three doggies.
Three shih tzu's.
Three brothers.

I'm pretty sure we all thought having three doggies would be madness..
I guess it may, still..
But we love it.
I wouldn't trade any of them!
Love 'em all.
Lots.

Walter and Angus have really been sweet to Gus.
I think Gus gets a little freaked out, sometimes, but I don't blame him, the boys can be a bit rough with him.
Its funny, actually, Gus has kind of beat up on Angus.
As my dad put it, "Its rude to beat up the handicapped guy."
But at the end of the day, they're buds.

Really, though, is he not the sweetest little face?
Gah. I adore him and his little squeaks.
I adore his puppy smell and puppy breathe and his rolly little belly.

New Angus

Last Saturday something sad happened. Stay tuned for the story.

Misses Savannah and Adi had their last dance competition of the year (woo-hoo!) last Saturday in Taylorsville. My grandma and grandpa Brown came down from Boise to watch some of their dances, also, my aunt Meredith and cousin Beatrice came, too -- it was fun. Further into the day, my grandpa and Uncle Dave ran down to our house to grab something out of our garage. While they were there, we asked if they would check on Walter and Angus and make sure they were doing alright. Then my grandpa called us.. He told us that Angus was acting really weird, being shaky and strange. Sometimes Angus is just a weird-o so at first, we didn't think too much of it. We just asked grandpa to give him some water and assumed he'd be fine after that. As the day went on, though, the thought of Angus acting weird started to worry us a little.
Finally, after a very long, but successful, dance competition, we made our way home. My cute daddy beat the four girls home and when we arrived, we found him sitting out in the garage with Walter and a very sickly looking Angus :( Poor little Angus was shaking like a leaf, soaking wet from head to toe, seemed terrified any time we tried to touch him, was very jumpy, and wouldn't blink, his eyes were weird and buggy, and his little tongue appeared to be stuck hanging out of his mouth. My dad had wrapped him up in a towel and was very worried about him. We all were once we saw him. Pretty quickly we decided we needed to take him to the doggie ER (yes, they have one of those) so we loaded him into his crate very carefully and mom was off with the little fella.

Angus was a medical mystery. For two nights he stayed in the ER and he stayed one night at the vet and never were his doctors able to really tell us what was going on with the little Bunny Puppy. Apparently, he was showing signs of eating Snail Bait, but seeing as we do not own nor use Snail Bait, that couldn't have been it. I don't feel like the vets were all that helpful..

Eventually, the little trooper was able to come back home but was not doing well, at all. Sometimes, he looked 100% dead and you had to poke and prod him several times before he'd show you the slightest sign of life. He had an antibiotic he had to take daily for five days, eye cream (that is no fun to put on, btw), and some caloric goo that we had to feed him through a syringe (for a few days, we had to feed & water him through syringe, too). Much of his time home, he would lay motionless, looking rather dead (as shown, above.) Angus wouldn't eat, drink, go potty, poop, or even walk. If you held him, you would think he had no muscle in his body. His little head would flop over your arm and he'd hang there..again, looking very dead. It was so sad to see this little guy, once FULL of chaotic, psycho energy do absolutely nothing. Its like he wasn't even Angus, anymore. He had forgotten us, clearly, and had no idea what the heck was going on around him. Not even Walter, who he once idolized, could perk him up. On the rare occasion he would walk, his tail was down, curled under his body and he just looked sad and pathetic. Luckily, when he was in these weird dead-puppy periods, we could stick corn syrup in his mouth and he'd usually "perk" back up within an hour or so.

After talking with the family and Craig (who is family, too) we decided, together, that if he wasn't functioning or any kind of better by tuesday before we left for Disneyland, we would put him down :( We all hated the thought (some of us may have even shed a tear or two) but Angus wasn't happy and was a walking zombie. He was brain dead. It was awful. He would walk around our house in circles and do the exact same thing - he'd walk to a corner, smell the same place on the wall, walk under the chair, lick your foot, and repeat that same route over and over.
Now, back to the whole lack of knowing what the heck was going  on with my little Bunny.. You know my boyfriend, Craig? Turns out he is an awesome veterinarian. That cutie found several articles online about similar conditions to Angus and the symptoms matched Angus, almost perfectly. So, after studying these articles and having Dr. Craig check him out, we've decided the poor little man probably had multiple seizures or strokes.
The saddest thing is, Angus isn't Angus, anymore. At all. He only looks like Angus (minus his kind of creepy/zombie left eye) but his personality is the exact opposite of what it once was. He is freakishly mellow, doesn't make a sound and is just..calm..which is so weird compared to the puppy we had last week. I think Angus really did loose his mind. He's just starting to recognize us, again, and acknowledge our noises, touches, etc.

Fast forward a couple days. Good things started to happen with Bunny. He ate on his own, he drank on his own, and after some q-tips shoved up uncomfortable places, he'd even poop and go potty on his own! It was really exciting! That is when we decided Angus didn't have a deadline, anymore. He'd be living past Tuesday, for sure. He wasn't completely helpless, anymore..so his little life was spared.

Now here we are, today, and I'm happy to tell you little Angus is still on the up-rise. He functions like a normal dog - just a very, very calm, mellow, "brain dead," clueless doggie. Its kind of cute, actually. This new Angus is growing on me :) He no longer walks circles 'round the house and sometimes, if you're lucky, he'll raise and wag his tail, and he's running and jumping, again!! We definitely aren't getting our old puppy back, but we're getting him back mentally, at least.
He's still got improving to do, but he's improving, nonetheless and I am completely thrilled that we don't have to put our sweet little guy down on tuesday. He's a fighter, that little guy is.

Warm Fuzzies

**i just read through this post..it sounds like a really bad journal entry and i'm being too lazy to go back and make it more fun and creative.
you're warned.

I am a happy camper. See? ^^^

Why? Because it is getting warm, outside!
I don't know if its going to stay warm because Spring is a very bipolar season, but while it is warm I'm going to be sure to enjoy it.

Finally, I can wear sandals and I can walk outside barefoot which is my very favorite thing to do, along side sitting outside at night, looking at the stars.

Being outside has got to be one of the best parts of warm weather, right?
A few weeks ago I hiked the Y with Craig's sister, Jen, and her cute kiddos. We had a lot of fun:)

Bunny Puppy has even taken part in the joys of warm weather by climbing some trees!
Cute little guy, isn't he?
(& just so you know, no, bunny didn't actually climb the tree-craig put him there)
haha
And yes, he needs a haircut.

In other VERY exciting news, guess where I'll be going come end of May?
DISNEYLAND!!!
Wahoo!! To make this trip even better, my lovely, sweetheart of a boyfriend will be joining us!

I feel like I say it all the time, but I'm saying it, again..
My life is so, SOO good!

bruises and bunnies

I have two stories and two pictures for you from this past week.

Story One: I was drying my hair, listening to music through headphones like I do every time I dry and do my hair and make up. You know how when you dry your hair you kind of shake the hairdryer? Well, that is what I was doing when I turned my head and smacked myself in the eye with the front of the dryer. Almost as quickly as I hit myself, it turned into a sexy little black eye. Its a week later now, and its just slightly yellow, thank goodness bruises heal because I was tiring of looking like I didn't know how to do my make up. The picture does't entirely do it justice, but you get it, basically. Right?

Story Two: Angus, or as I like to call him, Bunny, is the funniest, cutest, most psycho puppy. I love him. The other day I took Walter and Bunny outside in the back yard to lay on a blanket and read. Bunny Puppy hadn't been feeling very well, and I think he's afraid of wide open spaces (aka, the backyard--he will typically just stick close to the house, on the porch when he goes outside without a human escort) so he stuck close by me while I laid on my belly and read Hunger Games. (i'm trying to finish it before the movie i am seeing thursday..thats right, a day early) As I was sitting there reading, I noticed Bunny was sitting right next to my shoulder just staring at me. I looked at him and probably asked him what he was doing. He scooted closer. I thought to myself, "Self? This is a kodak moment." So I grabbed my phone and stuck it out in front of Bunny and me. Then what did he do? The little cutie-head leaned closer towards me and looked right at the camera! Made for one darling picture, if I do say so myself. Sweet little chicken Bunny Puppy, Angus.

The Bunny Puppy and the Pig

This is a dog post.

On Monday my little Bunny Puppy, also known as, Angus, got fixed.
And he had a herniated belly button, so they took care of that..
And they pulled four of the little mans teeth.
Poor, poor little fella.

The day we brought him home, he was whooped. Little Bunny couldn't stay awake.
We felt sorry for him.

We assumed he'd be out like this for a week, at least.
Um, nope.

The very next day, Bunny was back to his usual, psycho, maniac self.
See?

I'd feel bad leaving Walter the Piggie out of this post.
So here he is.
Mr. Walter likes to find new places to sleep.
Last night he thought a laundry basket would do.
Silly Pig.

From a Mop to a Blonde

I'm breaking away from the 'thankful' posts, today. Well, actually I guess I'm thankful for what I'm going to talk about, but I am posting with the intention of showing off my adorable puppy (:

A couple days ago, my little mop-like puppy, Angus, got his first haircut. Now it is official, he is the CUTEST dog on planet earth.

mop-puppy

brand spankin' new puppy! who knew under all that hair he was a blondie!

Sticky & Colorful

It is summer. (well, basically) My summer seems to be revolving around one thing:

Snow Cones

This is especially weird for me because never in my entire life have I been one of those people who, once summer comes around, craves snow cones. In all honesty, I've never really even liked snow cones. If I went an entire summer without one, I'd be a-okay.

But! When you take a summer job working in two local snow shacks, you become much better acquainted with them and, dare I say it, maybe even like them and crave them. (and get your fam. hooked, too)

I love my job. Even though some days are mind-bogglingly slow, its a fun job to have. I'm one lucky-ducky. It is fun/funny to come home from work with good money from tips, sticky arms and legs from sugar water and colorful hands from all the different syrups.

However, the main point of this post was that you know your summer revolves around snow cones when your sisters makes snow cones out of anything, really anything for you. This is definitely something that we never would have done before this year. Never.

Today while Savannah was doing dishes, she would fill cups up with bubbly soap and give them to me-snow cones!
I've received several drawings. of? -snow cones!
{pictured below} Adi has a little sandbox. What does she make with the sand and some caution cones?-snow cones!

Ah, snow cones :)
Cute.

On a completely different topic, my Angus puppy is still cute as ever!
About a week ago we took him to the vet..the little man is a whopping one pound ten ounces.
He is a hyper, wiggly little squeaky toy...who I'm sort of crazy in-love with!

(this is one of my favorite pass times - taking naps or snuggling with my two boys)
(in other news, walter is maybe finally sort of deciding to give angus a chance and not always be completely annoyed by him..fyi: angus LOVES walter (: ...heres to hoping their love grows (in walters case) and lasts!)

Now, may I introduce to you: Angus

I would like to welcome the newest addition to my little family:
ANGUS
This is my new little baby puppy.
I just got him today. He sort of looks like a guinea pig and has cute blonde goggles on. He's sweet.
He is a teacup shih tzu and he is teeny. He only weighs 2 1/2 lbs right now and his maximum weight should be about 7lbs.
He is squeaky and snuggly and has the cutest face I've ever seen (on a puppy).
Walter wasn't quite sure how he felt about Angus at first. But now he loves him and has taken on the roll of Angus's mommy and he takes that roll seriously. He always has his eyes on the little puppy.
In typical puppy fashion, Angus sleeps a lot.
He is as cute as pie. I'm in love with my little guy.
