Magic: Day One - The Happiness Begins

**As I began this Disneyland blog, I realized it would turn out to be one, insanely long post that most people probably wouldn't get all the way through, due to boredom. So, I've decided to make this one blog post - four blog posts! One post for each day. Maybe this way you guys will read all the posts, because they're shorter? Or maybe you'll still just skip over it..but I at least hope you'll enjoy the pictures.**

On Tuesday, May 29th around roughly three in the afternoon, my mommy, Savannah, Adeline, Craig and I hopped in our car and began the loooong drive to Disneyland, The Happiest Place on Earth - my daddy came on this trip, too, but he flew there (lucky man) because he had a meeting for work later that day..he ended up getting to our pirate themed hotel room several hours before we did. (again, lucky man) We arrived at our hotel, across the street from Disneyland around 1:30am, tired, but so excited for our Disneyland adventure to begin the very next day!

We started our Disney getaway (after purchasing two autograph books and hitting up a ride or two) by going to eat with Minnie Mouse at the Minnie Mouse, Character and Friends Breakfast at the Plaza Inn. There, we met and took pictures with Minnie Mouse (duh), the Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Captain Hook, Rafiki, Suzy (a mouse from Cinderella), Chip, Dale, and the White Rabbit, all while enjoying a very yummy buffet breakfast including those darling Mickey Mouse waffles.

Once our bellies were full we began to venture off into the many lands of Disneyland where we rode ride after ride. Yep, thats a lot of what Disneyland is - rides - but we just don't/didn't get sick of them! The rides are amazing, there. Also, it was nice to have SIX people so we could ride evenly on rides and no one would have to ride alone or with a stranger - this made bringing Craig along for the vacation an even better idea:) P.s. It is soooooo fun and the best experience to go to Disneyland with your boyfriend!! Talk about the happiest place on earth!!

Craig and I about to board Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The Buzz ride!!  (Craig gets LOTS higher scores than I do.)

Of course, at Disneyland, there are a billion places for adorable photo opportunities which we definitely took advantage of throughout our trip. Sleeping Beauty's Castle has got to be the most iconic place to get your picture taken, there, yes? So, of course, we did. And aren't we cu-ute??

My cute family getting our picture taken and lookin' goooooooood!

A little 'Its a Small World' action
Not all Disney rides are exciting to everyone (sigh). Its a Small World, for example is one Craig wasn't particularly thrilled to go on (just fyi, he's been before) and one that, as seen below, my cute daddy can NOT stay awake on. Apparently that song is a lullaby to him!

My boyfriend is just really, really handsome and more than that, he is the sweetest, kindest, funniest, most genuine, kind hearted person I've ever, ever met and ever will meet. On this trip Craig and I took a LOT of super adorable pictures. Look under this typing.. Thats one of them. Geez..LOVE it. And him. And Disneyland.

Jungle Cruise
The next three pictures are all from Splash Mountain, both in line and on the ride. Ride pictures are too fun to take and we like taking them (as you will discover in the next few posts). The faces, expressions and positions you're in while riding rides is quite hilarious. Especially on Big Thunder, right people I went to Disneyland with?? ;)
The six of us were pretty dang good at making lots of noise on all the rides. Hooting and hollering, screaming and laughing our heads off. Theres nothing better, am I right?

Here is a bit of a story for you.

In Disney's California Adventure, there is a ride back at Paradise Pier called, Toy Story Midway Mania. If you haven't been on it - GO ON IT. You'll thank me for demanding you to do this, I promise. So good, oh my gosh. No, really. The six of us are obsessed. It was Craig's first time going on it, and he now declares it his favorite ride. So, see? That good.

The only problem with this ride is that we aren't the only ones who adore it. Everyone else does, too, thus, the line is always L.O.O.O.N.G. The other fault is that there is no Fast Pass on this attraction so theres no way out of this line of longness..

..Oh, but we found a way out of it!
(intrigued? keep reading)

My cute mother has this friend she went to high school with who now, coincidentally, works at Disneyland. A few weeks ago my mom got in touch with him (theres a story behind how and why, etc. its just long and you probably don't care and i can't remember it) and he told her that when we are there, we should contact him and he could bring us a little extra magic
Boy, did he ever!!
As we were sitting eating lunch, this wonderful man texted my mom asking us where we were. We told him where and with that, he was on his way to come deliver us some magic. The whole time we ate, we came up with ideas of what it could be.. Our ideas were scattered, and we were kind of hoping maybe by some miracle he'd take us to see Cars Land, a new land in California Adventure that opens June 15th that looks AMAZING! But, we didn't want to set our expectations too high and become disappointed, so we tried our best to patiently wait and find out what this surprise would be.
Finally, he came bearing gifts. Great gifts.

See my happy momma? She is holding the four greatest gifts. Those are four tickets for the six of us to get to the front of any line. Best part? He informed us that we'd get four more the next day. Also, we received preferred seating at Disneyland's firework show, Magical, for the day after. We received some pins, too.
We got spoiled, I know.

What did we (mostly..2/4) use them on?
You guessed it! (maybe..did you?)
Toy Story Midway Mania!
(we used the other 2 this day on Tower of Terror and Screamin' California)
Can I just tell you how beautiful it is to go to the front of a line that has a 70+ minute wait? Very beautiful.
This is how we began perfecting our scores, figuring out secrets to score big, etc.
If you've been on the ride, I know you're all jealous.

There you have it! Our Day One in Disneyland; The Happiest Place on Earth! Hope it wasn't too boring for you :) Be patient, my loves, Magic; Day Two will be posted, shortly.

  2. We got a fast pass for any ride when we were in the fast pass line for Soarin'.The theater broke down. So they gave us a fast pass for any ride and we chose Toy Story mania too. So fun. Love getting to the front of a 70 minute line:)
