day TWO

day two: A picture of you and the person you've been close to the longest.

My first best friend, Megan, and myself.

The two of us basically grew up together. We called ourselves sisters.
Because basically...we were.

Although we aren't as close as we once were, we still keep in touch.
Love that girl.

day one

I don't know about you, but tons of my facebook friends have been doing the '30 day challenge' lately. I think its cool, but I don't want to do it on facebook. Where do I want to do it? Yep, on the blog. Here goes.

Day 1: A picture of yourself with 15 facts

1: Orange is my very favorite color followed closely by purple and pink.
2: Beautiful is my favorite word.
3: I'm not a morning person. Never have been and I'm pretty sure I never will be.
4: I'm obsessed with music. Any opportunity I have to be listening...I am.
5: I'm kind of a hopeless romantic.
6: Crime shows captivate me and terrify me.
7: Jewelry is fabulous.
8: I write poetry. Its therapeutic and calming.
9: Raspberries are my favorite food.
10: Procrastination gets the best of me more often than I'd like to admit.
11: I'm a lotion-addict.
12: I love being in-love. There's simply nothing better.
13: I have my cell phone with me 24/7.
14: I'm not good at it, but I sure do love to dance.
15: Diet Coke is a weakness of mine.

latest obsession

I'm slightly addicted to this song.

wait! i forgot..

I realized in my Disney World post I left out this picture.
One of my favorite pictures from the trip.
Why is it?
Because I love the fact that Disney World has magical ground that sparkles.
Thats all.
I just couldn't stand to leave this picture un-posted.

and so it continues...

I am one of those people who has never really had good luck in the health department. Its just my astounding "luck."

On December 17th I got my wisdom teeth out {see one of my previous posts} and besides the week of throwing up, losing sixteen pounds and having huge chipmunk cheeks, incredible pain, etc. things went alright.

Last week I went to the orthodontist and the dentist, both of whom told me that the areas where I had my surgery seemed to be healing really well.

All of this positive chit-chat left me feeling like I was recovered from that awful week in December and the wisdom teeth drama was a thing of the past.

Until I woke up this morning to this beautiful face...

Precious, huh?!

No.

Sadly, this photograph really doesn't even do my face justice. Its worse in real life. Fatter. Uglier. Scarier. Owie-er.

Last night when I was in bed my mouth was hurting just a little, but I didn't think it was anything too serious. Just pain.

After seeing the abnormality of my face shape and feeling the intense pain that went along with this new look, this morning, I decided it would be in my best interest to head back to the oral surgeon to have him take a look at it.

I should have known that I have an infection 5% of patients who get their wisdom teeth out get. How silly of me not to have previously guessed that! {I'm serious, thats just the kind of luck I have.}

I tried remembering the name of the infection... but it was a big long name that has slipped my mind.

So the oral surgeon looks at me, feels the large mass on my cheek, looks inside my mouth, pokes around (apparently not worrying about he immense pain he was putting me through) then announced to me it was time to drain it and see if that could get rid of some of the infection.

Draining is a painful, awful process.

I have zero tolerance for pain. Really, zero. So this was kind of the worst thing on the planet. No numbing or anything, he made two incisions on my gums then basically squeezed my face for a good few minutes as infection-nastiness came out...blech. I'd go into more detail except I think I'll barf if I do.

Despite him draining my face, I still have a gigantic left cheek which he guessed will be completely gone in a few weeks. Great. He sent me home with an antibiotic and loratab (or one of those heavy duty pain killer pills--the same medication that caused me to throw up solidly for that week--so you can imagine my excitement) prescription and told me he hoped I'd get better soon, because if this keeps up, I'll be back in the operating room, put under again for a more intense surgery.

I'm hoping this time I'll heal like a normal person and really be done with this wisdom teeth drama.

Here's to hoping.

So, what's good?!

This adorable little lady is Miss Adi Kayde
For Adi's ninth birthday (i'm still in denial that she's that old, btw) she got a cell phone. Yes, she's awfully young to have a phone of her own, but that seems to be something that happens in our home. You get 'em when you're young.

Cool beans.

Since Adi has received her cute little pink phone, she has become an avid texter. Especially at night when she's laying in bed "trying" to sleep.

Usually, our conversations consist of her telling me she loves me, then me telling her I love her....then she tells me I'm awesome, I tell her she's the sweetest, she tells me she loves me again...and so on and so forth...

The other day, we decided we needed to change our texting routine up a bit or else I was going to go insane {even thought I do love being told that I'm loved and I'm awesome..}

So we came up with this... Simply, one of us would start with the text:

"So, what's good?!"

After this line has been sent, the two of us name the top 10 good things of our day.

This has taken our texting to a whole new level, folks.

Its beautiful. I love it.

It has also helped me out a lot in focussing on the good things in the day rather than the bad, and come on, we all need to do that more, am I right, or am I right?

These good things can be the simplest of things, too. For example, one of Adi's texts last night was:

"8: i stayed in comfy clothes all day"

One of mine was:

"2: i took a long, happy-nappy"

Here's a thought! You guys should play "So, what's good?!," too.

If you have no one to play with..I'll gladly play with you.

I'm a fan of the game.

Anyway, last night, Savannah-bug, Adi and I had a sleepover on the living room floor (& we watched Despicable Me...anyone want to buy me a minion?!) and Adi and I were talking about our texting game...

She then asked me if I thought everyone had at least one good thing that happened in their day. Even poor people, sad people, etc.

We decided they probably did. Even if it was something as simple as someone smiling at them, you know?

That led us to thinking that we could easily be that person to help someone's day be good. Adi and I decided we're going to be extra friendly, smile at people who look like they could use a smile, and even those who don't...because, they might really need it.

Adi and I challenged ourselves to be better people. Happier, friendlier (no idea if thats a word) people.

And it all started with

"So, what's good?!"

Yeah, you guys should play it, too.

WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE

In October, the fam and I went to the the BEST most FANTASTIC place on EARTH.

DISNEY WORLD, of course.

Now, my mom has blogged about each day, separately. Actually, she's still in the process of doing that.. She's a much better blogger than me and she's got more pictures, more detail, etc. If you feel so inclined to see/learn more about our fabulous trip, then please, visit HER blog: davmarwalker.blogspot.com

This will be my brief overview of the trip. Just one picture for each day... Because its late and I'm lazy.

Oh, here's something... A while ago when you blogged, you had to upload all the pictures in reverse order. I thought that is still what you had to do but apparently it isn't. So all my pictures are out of order. You know, our last day is the first picture, first day the last picture. You get it...
Just in case you cared.

So here we go.
Walker Disney Trip Oct. 2010

Adi-lulu and I on Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom.
Yes, we're on the ride. Mom likes to take lots of action shots.

less wise

(1st item of business...my picture up there ^^^ is gigantic. Anyone know how to make it smaller? Thanks.)

THE TOP 6 REASONS WHY CHELSEAKATE IS GLAD WISDOM TEETH ONLY ARE REMOVED FROM YOUR MOUTH ONCE:
  1. I got them removed Dec. 17, 2010..it is now Jan. 13, 2011 and they're still a wee bit sore.
  2. The day I got them removed I had no feeling, therefore no control over my mouth and couldn't take pain medication for hours. The pain was intense. I've never hurt so bad. I don't remember this, but I guess I bawled hysterically for hours. Do I blame myself? Nope.
  3. I was sick for days and days and days. Throwing up anything and everything inside of me. I threw up so much I lost 16 lbs.
  4. My family is still making fun of me for the weird things I was saying while all drugged up. Apparently I was very concerned about if Savannah had worn clothes to school that day...
  5. Braces + getting wisdom teeth taken out = awful.
  6. Needles terrify me. They stick one in you when you get your wisdom teeth out. Blah...
There you have it. It was awful. Glad thats done with.

Love, ChelseaKate...who has the strong urge to play around in my senior prom dress...

Hey, Howdy, Hey

The Internet in the Walker home is back. Can you hear the hallelujah chorus singing? I can. Loud and clear.

Know what this means, now? It is time to play CATCH UP. Why? Because. I haven't posted hardly anything I've wanted to since the tragic day when the Internet was lost.

So stay tuned, friends. Posting will begin shortly.

Love, Chelsea...who is currently drinking one of the yummiest Diet Coke's ever.

two zero one one

Oh, blog, I have missed you terribly. I got ahold of my daddy's laptop and I just had to do a post...even though I have no ideal what exactly I will post about.

Here's something. It's 2011! Time for New Years Resolutions. I was watching Good Morning America this morning (because I'm cool like that) and the interviewed a lady who was giving tips on the best ways to keep and stay true to your resolutions. Two of her tips were to write it down and to tell a friend. I figure, if I put it on my blog, I'm writing it down and telling lots of friends! (I like to pretend lots of people read my blog.)

Okay, okay. Here they are. My 2011 resolutions.

1) Excercise daily
2) Finish the Book of Mormon
3) Blog more/take more pictures
4) Love/serve more
5) Don't be so quick to judge
6) Cook more
7) Try harder to be a better Primary teacher

There you go. There they are.

Happy New Years, my friends, Happy New Years
